Hope In God

by Olajubu A. Michael (Jacobs Adewale)
(Lagos, Nigeria)

When diminished and brought low
Through oppression, trouble and sorrow,
Your heart longs for life's goodness
As agony stifles your hope and keenness.

Your soul tends to allure the envoys of death
Believing your fate had been coined from birth
To live with grief and dwell in anguish
But kept hoping to never relinquish.

Blessed is he/she that sleeps to wake
With love and peace many crave to take;
Filled with thanks and grateful we should be
When God's grace grants us life to be the best we ought to be.

When bashed with pain and left to bawl
Without succour and might to borrow,
Hope in God to stay alive
And His steadfast love will revamp and keep you alive.
